A Case of Parosteal Osteogenic Sarcoma

Abstract
A case of parosteal osteogenic sarcoma and it¢¥s treatment is reported. Parosteal osteogenic sarcoma is a rare, slowly growing malignant neoplasm among the primary bone tumor.
That arise frequently from the long bone, especially, femur in wide range of age group (15-35).
This patient, 16-yrs-old male, complained of dullache on the distal part of left thigh for 20 days. X-ray findings revealed periosteal new bone formation along the cortex on the lateral side suggesting osteomyelitis or Swing¢¥s sarcoma. However, microscopically, it was confirmed as parosteal osteogenic sarcoma, and then he had received Co-6¢¥ aviation(4, 000 roentgen) for one month. Two month later, he had pathological, fracture on affected site in cycling.
He was treated by block resection, homogenous fibula bone graft and immobilized with Kuntcher nail in addition of hip spica cast. He was followed for postoperative 9 months.
Grafted bone is well united and patient has normal general life except mild limitation of knee flexion.
